Slight Breeze Studios is looking for a passionate, experienced screenwriter or filmmaker to lead our first-ever 8-week in-person screenwriting workshop for emerging writers developing original short films.
This is an opportunity to guide 10 early-career creatives as they take their ideas from rough concept to polished script and pitch — with the potential for their final projects to be produced under the Slight Breeze Studios banner.

The Slight Breeze Writers Room is an intimate workshop experience hosted in Brooklyn, NY. Students meet once a week, complete writing assignments between sessions, and develop their script and pitch under your guidance.
The energy is creative, the stakes are exciting, and the goal is simple: develop strong short film scripts and make room for new voices to be heard.

You’re a working screenwriter, filmmaker, or creative with real-world experience in storytelling and short films
You have strong communication and mentorship skills
You’re organized, thoughtful, and passionate about helping new writers find their voice
You’re comfortable leading a room, offering critique, and encouraging collaboration
You believe in telling stories that feel personal but land universally

Lead one in-person workshop session weekly
Thursdays from 6:30–9:00 PM or
Saturdays from 11:30 AM–1:00 PM
Provide hands-on script feedback
Teach core fundamentals of short-form storytelling, character, structure, dialogue, and formatting
Guide students through developing a pitch deck and verbal pitch
Support students during the final pitch week presentation
