Director’s Statement
How we perceive our being is contingent on the way we shape our relationship to community – space, tradition, and culture. Through this perspective, we inform our reality. Demo121 was made to examine the cyclical interaction of community engagement and the absence of it. Me and my director of photography, Aerin Fortes, wanted to create a film based in community and how it shapes identity. Aerin, having studied "affect" during her masters studies, suggested that our storyline be topical to that principal psychology. From this I created a story that maintained a great curiosity for people, places, and circumstance inspired by the community in which I live. - Jada Henry
