Get a Real Job is a comedy series that follows two broke, burnt-out canvassers navigating the absurd world of nonprofit fundraising in New York City. Armed with clipboards, questionable scripts, and a shaky sense of purpose, they try to save the world one awkward sidewalk interaction at a time, while barely holding their own lives together. As they hustle through the emotional highs and crushing lows of asking strangers for money, the series dives into themes of survival, identity, and the messy gray area between passion and paycheck. It’s a chaotic love letter to the weirdest job you’ve ever quit.

After a stint in prison, a young man returns to friends and family waiting for him across New York. Except his girl has moved on, money ain't what it used to be and this isn't the same bustling city he left behind. It's all good.
Visual and sonic artistry takes center stage as the impeccably talented $ECK brings out all the stops for a directorial feature debut dripping in style. A poetic, lyrical, and substantive character portrait rooted in the lives some in our society lead with nary a spotlight. He creates a vision of New York that feels uniquely his own, while creating avenues for Ace and other relatable characters to bring empathy and understanding to the forefront with a good tinge of charm.

Once your purchase is complete, you’ll receive a digital ticket via email. You can either save it on your phone or print it out to present at the event for entry. If you’re a moviegoer who loves to keep movie stubs, printing your ticket is a great way to have a physical keepsake from the event.

Tickets are transferable. If you can’t attend, you may send your digital ticket to someone else. Please notify us at hello@slightbreezestudios.com in advance so we can update our guest list.

We’ve partnered with our neighbors in the Navy Yard to offer ticket holders exclusive discounts at local restaurants and cafes. While Slight Breeze Studios doesn’t serve full meals onsite, we will provide light snacks and sodas during the screenings. You can also enjoy partner restaurant discounts before, after, or between films.
